ICC Cricket World Cup & FIFA U-20 World Cup Parking Notice:

Please note that annual car parks will not be valid for any of the World Cup matches held at the Stadium as all Stadium facilities, including car parks, come under the control of the respective cup organisers. For parking and transport arrangements at these World Cup matches please visit www.cricketworldcup.com or www.fifa.com/u20worldcup or contact us closer to the event.

At the Stadium

A limited number of car parks below the main public walkway are available to the public on event day.

Cost:

  • Sporting events/concerts - $30 *
  • Exhibitions - $8 *

Event details will confirm individual event cost and car park opening time.

Vehicle access is off Waterloo Quay at the traffic lights opposite the entrance to CentrePort (and adjacent to the overbridge between CentrePort and the Stadium walkway).

Event day car parking can be booked in advance.  Contact the Stadium Trust office on 04-473-3881 or email carparks@westpacstadium.co.nz.  The cut-off time for advance booking is one week prior to the event - this is to allow enough time to mail you the car park pass.

You can also visit the Stadium Trust office to advance purchase an event day car park, up until the working day prior to the event day. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 5pm.

* For car parking, please note that payments by eftpos or credit card will incur a .60c processing fee.

Are you in a wheelchair or do you require mobility assistance?
Find more information in the Disabled Access section.

Around the Stadium

Try to avoid the Thorndon/Wadestown area.  It is restricted to residents only and stringent tow away enforcement will apply. If you have a regular city car park, we suggest using it and walking to the Stadium or catch a shuttle.

Coach parking

Your coach driver will have a special parking area at the port or another location near the railway station. You can walk from the coach parking areas to the turnstiles. Your bus or coach will remain in the parking space for the return journey.

Coach operators bringing a bus to a stadium event:

Parking must be pre-arranged through the:

Bus and Coach Association
P O Box 9336
Wellington
Phone:  (04) 499 7334
Email:  info@busandcoach.co.nz

The Stadium Shuttle is the only bus permitted to drop patrons off at the top of the ramp.

Commuter parking

During the week, the Stadium car park is available for commuter car parking.

Please note that from 1 September 2014, Care Park NZ Ltd will manage the Stadium car park. Casual rates will apply Monday to Friday ($10 all day and $50 for a weekly ticket). Multiple payment options will be available and there will be two cashier booths on weekdays from 7am to 9.30am. For any further parking enquiries including monthly passes, please contact Care Park on 04 805 0445, or send an email.

When Stadium event days fall on a weekday, the car park may be closed for commuter car parking, or there may be a restricted number of car parks available. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for parking updates.

We are happy to offer free parking for motorbikes under the western pedestrian ramp. This area is covered and has steel framing which can be used to secure bicycles as well.

Function parking

Parking is available on the Mezzanine car park (access is half way up the main vehicle ramp) with a $10 flat rate. Parking is free for weekend functions, and those commencing after 7pm on weeknights. Two 'Pay and Display' machines are located on the Mezzanine Floor. Please note payment is by coins or credit card.

From the Mezzanine car park, use the central staircase to access the walkway which will take you to the main entrance of the Stadium, and to your function room.  See also the map (pdf document) at the bottom of this page.

Height clearance

  • Mezzanine floor: 2.2 metres
  • Ground floor: the roof height is variable but 2.2 metres clearance is a guideline.

Car parks at the entrance have higher clearance but on event days this space may be occupied by buses.
